Two people love each other deeply. How deeply, you ask? Well, the end of a 10' endoscope is about right.
In so many films the characters examine each others bodies. Sometimes VERY closely... Sometimes they even cut off parts of it. In some cases they even enter it - witness the famous Almodovar's nightmare.
But I don't recall another movie with two people so fascinated with each other internal organs that it begins to completely dominate their lives, forcing them to do obviously stupid things... will spare you the details for fear of creating a spoiler.
I wouldn't call The Sentiment of the Flesh a strong film, but if your desire is to leave the well-traveled road, this might be your late night cup of coffee.
It is not quite what the title seems to imply, it is not about sex... it is far deeper...

Of course I will only watch it if in BR.

"Enter the Void."
Unfortunately for your, Vic, it isn't about the digestive system. It is a brilliant film, however, and every much a game changer for him as was "White Ribbon," for Haneke.
Why should we come back to the directors who let us down again and again? I usually give them two chances... quite generous of me, I think.

but White Ribbon is a classic and VERY unlike the other two. The children, the austere father, the love story.... a classic film and as good as any film these past five years. The Noe film also is very unlike anything he's previously done, or anyone has. It really is novel filmmaking. You at least should watch it for 15 minutes if for no other reason than to see the novel technique. Did I mention there is an extremely sexy actress on display???
I will not see this movie, but I sense a disembowelment coming on..
I guess making love to a large surgical incision is not your thing?
But at least there is no violence in this one!
