Nothing like the pleasure of an instant gratification. I love the ability to watch a film I just discovered. Oftentimes I read a recommendation here and watch that film half an hour later.

I've just found almost every time I shop some review mentions a flaw which hinders my selection.. I can always blame you if there's a problem...Whether its Ghosting, Black fading, Burn In or a Buzzing from the back soemthing has always scared me off.

I have three Panasonic Viera plasma sets (42, 50 and 65") and couldn't be more pleased. My first plasma was a Philips which I liked but it failed after two years. I also have LG, Samsung and Olevia LCDs for the guest rooms. None can compare to the Viera.

....no LCD looks as good as a plasma.

I have a 50 and now 65". I know of nothing better for the price.
Make sure my room has the biggest one! Cover the grits' rooms floor with plastic, he has been known to spill blood.
My Kuro has been the picture of reliability for three years. And I've not seen a better picture when I've strolled about the LCD showrooms.

Picture quality, fantastic on my Panny and our friend's Samsung.
Sure you'll find measurements that show they're less than perfect. But good Lord, the pictures are freeking amazing!
Do you have friends who own hi def TVs? Do you notice anything short of fantastic pictures on their sets when yer over? Of all the sets we've seen set up in friend's homes, the only noticeably deficient set we've seen ahs been a 46" Sanyo Plasma. But fer Chrissakes, it's a freekin Sanyo. And the movie watching experience on it still beats the heck out of a 17" 'puter screen. JMHO, et al, YMMV, etc......

Our main movie screen is the Pioneer 5050 plasma, which I got many years ago through equipment swap, when it just came out - when was it? It does all I need, and it is plain refusing to die... has one dead pixel and is a bit darker than it was new, but still running great. When it dies, I will likely get an LED panel.
We have a massive and impressive home theater with large screen projector, which we have not used in years... I presume it is still there... unless by now the mice have completely eaten the wires. I think my wife stores her kitchen stuff in that room now... need to check... :)
I know a couple of guys here praise the Kuro plasma, plus we had some hard core old farts claiming only film can do B&W, but to me this all much ado about nothing.
Had mine for 6 years now and still very happy. Just doesn't do 1080p. Somehow, I've found a way to live with that...
