Guy's movie. Based on a true story that blackens the eye of Britain's SAS set in 1980 involving the Oman War. (?)Jason Statham retires from his professional assassin franchise only to be pulled right back in when his buddy DeNiro gets kidnapped by an aging Sheik's henchmen. The old man wants revenge for the three sons he lost to SAS killers and presents Statham with the deal: Succeed and you get Bobby back plus $6MM!
Okay, he pulls together a mostly limey team and they have a go at this but run into interference from "The Feather Men" who are mostly retired SAS and take care of business as they see fit. Clive Owen is their guy in the field and he is to stop the killings.
This film jumps all over the ME, Paris, and London at a rapid pace. For a manly action flick it has good actors and a good story. Clive and Jason have a historically ferocious fight that reminded me of Red Grant and Bond. Plenty of that.
Nice way to kill some time but leave the girl's at home. Nothing in this for them but Jason's new love interest who is quite an eyeful.

...in that I didn't care about ANY of those people. Should I root for the professional murderers or the soldiers who 'did their duty' in a 'dirty war'? 'None of the above' is my answer, so I left.
But being in a Harkins theater, the popcorn was DE-licious!

low, you'll still be disappointed.
Bourne makes this look even worse. No attempt at building characters. Not even cool cars. We're supposed to root for guys who are killing their own. Certainly, this film hits a new low for cynicism. Garbage. Excrement. No extreme torture so grits didn't wax as positive as one would expect.
