Has potential. Hope it has enough to keep it from just becoming another action series fomulaic crap.

I was rooting for the dinosaurs
1.The Defenders
2.Detroit 187
3.Chicago Code
4.Human Target.
I hated the premise, human-caused global warming gone amuck, but it was interesting once the made the jump. Interesting, the concept of one-way communication. But how do the people know the colony made it? For all they know they are jumping into a T-Rex nest.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
It will fail.
Hollywood will say, 'See, people don't want dinosaur shows'.
F*ckers.

Try Revenge. Madeline Stowe plays the antagonist, so far (one episode) to a T.Hunky guys, hot gals, back stabbing, adultery, murder, and, REVENGE for 20 year old deeds.

"I'd like to own a squadron of tanks"
It was somewhat fun to watch. But it seemed to be aimed at teenagers as they were the majority of the time on screen. The leader, Taylor, was over/poorly-acted IMO. If it would not have been on night-time TV hours and advertised as much I probably would have missed it (for instance Saturday morning or after school more suitable for teen watching).
I'll check it out again, but somewhat doubt it'll last.

God, woman, there are plenty of fine films out there. Isn't life a bit too short to waste on drivel? Mind, there is plenty of well-done drivel out there, tried and proven stuff. "The Devil Wears Prada," for instance. Heck, even has Meryl to add a bit of class.
Nor did she say she was looking for an award winning show. Seems she was looking for something enjoyable to watch on TV. Some crazy people are like that, me for instance.
TV shows have an advantage over movies, any movies, in that you have an ongoing involvement in the characters. Potentially for years. Movies allow a ~2 hour involvement and it's over (with exception of Jaws II, then III... for example :)).
I enjoyed the show to some degree. Hoping for improvement. Most of the movies you post about however are not of any interest to me. Boring drivel to borrow a word. To each their own.
So what did you think of the first episode anyway?

...my wife and daughter realy enjoyed "The Devil Wears Prada" and said it gave them a lot of insight into the world of fashion and some of the famous personalities involved.
Do you go to your local multiplex looking for French art films?
a good popcorn film. It provided NO insight into the fashion industry, beyond the most superficial. My 10-yr. old liked it, but even she didn't think it was that good.
Your French art comment is interesting. You seem to equate excellence with some sort of snobbism. Prada was fluff, mk. The fashion business was but a pretext to produce yet another plucky outsider character driven film.
This is Maxx posing as Miu-miu.
Good idea, poorly executed, IMNSHO. Certainly wasn't targeted for the average AA inmate. As Grant says, teens will prolly love it.
"I'd like to own a squadron of tanks"
I would have preferred a mini-series. As a weekly TV show, it will probably fade to boring, rehashed plots.
I couldn't make it through the first hour. So much stupidity.
I hope dinosaurs eat them all.

kind of Movie Action when they whip at you with their tales I found to be laughably prepoosterous.
I can't see how this story is worth 13 episodes.. We all have imaginations so seeing it played out in Computer Geneated Imagery may keep the attention of 13 yo's but I flipped it off after about five minutes.. This is just what Terence McKenna found would occur when examining the I-Ching. The diminishing of Novelty at the End of Time...There is just nothing left to imagine to impress us.. this may be why most of the stuff I seek out to watch and listen to are from the past. Movies from the 30's-70's and Music from the 17th to early 20th C..

Disappointed would be an understatement Liz. I could see the "writings" and the "Others" coming from a mile away. Taylor's character was weak. The teens going out beyond the fence was a dumb plot device. Reconcilliation son/dad = yawn.Having said that, I'll dutifully watch next week.
