...of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna.
I strongly recommend it, not only to the sports fans - watch it for human drama, there is plenty of it. The film is well made and will undoubtedly make you stop and look around you - it did that to me, anyway.
I don't like many documentaries... this one is poignant.
Follow Ups:
Seems this is another one they are trying to "gauge" interest in with their little "Save" button gimmick; before actually dropping the $20 on the (eventually) severely abused disc they hope to send out.
IMO and from what I have seen when I want a new DVD...
Comparing Blu-Ray to streaming is really no comparison at all, at least where I live. Just like another "stream", it's complete waste.
NF streaming is perfectly fine for long hours of devouring movies. I have gotten so addicted to it. 52 episodes of Mad Men in about ten days time! That's in the "get a life" bracket.

And what is your typical quality level? I don't know what is responsible, but we often only get two dots out of four - and the computers are running fine at that time.

I got a Western Digital box (same box that plays me music) and use DSL slow. Much to my surprise DSL slow works well with a minimum of reloads. Apparently peak viewing hours have a lot to do with this.
The picture quality ranges from good to shitty depending on NF. I think it has more to do with the digital transfer process on their end. Notice I said good not HD. I'm not sure going to a fast DSL speed would make a difference.
Oh, the WD box is clunky and slow to boot up. When a movie finishes I end up having to leave NF and come back in but for a hundred bucks I'm not complaining.

Senna was an amazing driver. Watching him and Nigel Mansell going wheel to wheel at Montreal with stay with me forever. OTOH Prost was/is a #ick.
Regards, Sam
Not for me. I have no interest in renting or owning the physical media of films. The streaming choices will only get better with time. I just streamed the first season of Downton Abbey that I would not have seen without streaming.

...seems to be matched by mine in pixelation. To each his own.
Oh that reminds me, does anyone know of a good hard drive recovery service that won't charge an arm and a leg to recover the 2 years worth of pictures that are sitting on my dead Western Digital hard drive?

I didn't know much about Senna and was captivated by his combination of skill and humility/humanity.
Stupidity is NOT a victimless crime.
For some reason that film affected me. I basically knew the story , but this time I went deeper and wider, watching other sources and reading.

Maybe even more focus and reflexes because you don't chase another jet fighter nose to tail for over two hours at a time.

The film is excellent. His life was short, but very well lived.
but the film peaked my interest in the sport and made me want to know more about Senna. It effected me to... I think it was his spirit.
Happy new year, Victor!
Stupidity is NOT a victimless crime.
Happy New Year to you too! I used to pay more attention to that sport years ago, not being a real fan, but still... So it might make sense to look again, as apparently things have changed quite a bit - based on my reading yesterday.
Hence - the good reason (excuse) to buy that 70" LED screen! :) Races should look spectacular on it.
Anyone know which channel shows them? Sure beats watching yet another Korean slasher piece of crap... :(

the 2011 season too..just aired the Valencia Race
enjoyment, I'd say, would be a good theater sound system; the growling and howling of those engines is at least 1/2 the fun. I confess to watching "Bullitt" and "Road Warrior" just to hear those engines!
Hey, instead of more Korean slashers, take the wife out to "Melancholia." I'd be interested to read your opinion. It is growing in my estimation as time passes; this is the opposite of the Malick "Tree" film that has diminished from a fairly low place, to begin with.
And... have you seen, "Memories of Murder?" This is a five-star Korean film.
adds quite a bit of interest!
Why does a man born to wealth and family seek such an occupation? What kept him going after so many triumphs? After the death of his friend?
It is impossible for anyone not Brazilian to imagine how important this charismatic fellow was to the Brazilian psyche. Like Pele, he transcended his sport, but in a more personal sense: not every Brazilian plays soccer; every guy that slipped behind a wheel, however, imagined he was Senna blazing around Rio or Sao Paulo.
There is something of the Greek tragic figure, Icarus, in Senna's life--- and especially, death.
