Well maybe if he didn't destroy the most anticipated release in decades...TWICE...fans would be more forgiving.
Baba-Booey to you all!

Have watched them all, prequels included. The originals were just ok,the
prequels are dull.
My parents saw Star Wars when it came out,my dad said it warmed over Flash Gordon.

Now we have that crap coming at us in fake 3D.
I expect George to take up space on the next version of Hollywood Squares, and he'll be introduced for each episode as the director of the upcoming rerelease of whichever Star Wars movie he is going to try to squeeze more money out of next.

I am a huge sci fi fan, but overall, Star Wars seemed very juvenile to me. And as the article mentioned, I winced when Jar Jar Binks made an appearance.
Amore Solum Opus Est
...as Jar Jar would pseudo rasta exclaim.
After seeing Alien, I couldn't understand all the fuss about Star wars - though as space operas go I believe Star Wars got better while the Alien franchise kind of fizzled.
Alien was a true benchmark forward for creating drama in space - Star Wars a lot of fun.
I sat through the first five, but haven't gotten around to the one where what's his name becomes Darth Vader.
B movies plots, Step and Fetchit rip-offs, stereotypical cardboard characters.....GEORGE HAS NO ONE TO BLAME BUT HIMSELF.
I am sure that by retiring, he'll have ample to time to prepare for the next rehash re-release of his crap Sci Fi ouvre.
Maybe he'll even have time for another round of 'collectible' action figures.
I can see it now, the "George Lucas Says FU to the Critics" deluxe 24 DVD release with special tirade footage and special collectors edition R2D2 pencil sharpener action figure.
Shut up and go count your money, George.
