French action flick Point Blank is not bad at all... considering its genre. Formulaic to some degree, to be sure, but still whole lot better than your average crap you get in that category these days.
Lotsa mandatory chases and sudden turns, with the biggest attraction being yet another totally commanding performance by Roschdy Zem - that guy's screen presence is simply incredible.

you obviously are unfamiliar with them.... well, I was going to say you should check out a few of their films, but what's the point? I once knew an elderly woman that fed her cat ONLY filet mignon.

2 hours of boredom ( long shots of someone sleeping), followed by all out Violence.

As the rule they manage to avoid the total debilism so characteristic of many Hollywood actions. They tend to be much more modest in production means, which lets them (forces them?) focus more on the inner worlds of the participants.
