Damn, Statham, how far do you have to go to keep an audience? The plot has two streams: a Chinese girl math prodigy that can remember codes and a has been cop turned martial arts fighter who is haunted by the Russian Mob. The Chinese Mob loves the calculator kid because she affords them paperless bookkeeping and Statham has been ostracized from society because he didn't throw a match that costs the Russians a cool million. Killing his wife just wasn't enough, they wanted suffering.
After living as a human punching bag Statham is ready to end it all in the subway when his eyes catch a glimpse of the tiny Chinese girl(Mei) fleeing. He goes to check it out and ends up offing about five Russian pursuers. Now teamed with Mei for her safety he begins to unravel a criminal conspiracy that has the NYC cops, Russians, and Chinese all competing for the possession of Mei and what's in her head.
NYC should sue over this film. Everybody, including the Mayor, was a crook. Nearly every cop a crook and the crooks even crookeder! Statham even picks up a hooker on the way to wiping out half of the Russian community eating at a native restaurant. The action was not for being nice and winging the enemy but blowing his shat away and that they did all through the movie. I would love for someone to take a clicker and count how many people were killed.
By now you either will not see this lowest common denominator homicide fest or you are saying "right on" and headed to the metroplex. This film is up to the usual high Statham production standards and the action is a triple scoop of violence and murder.
After the credits started I began to look for a redeeming factor and really couldn't find one.
This isn't for the fairer sex.
Follow Ups:
Starring Julianne Moore. That is a nice film.
It's been while, I think It was good - I don't think I saw bad movie with Brandon Gleason though (must see General)

It's a very funny and fun film with Don Cheadle as foil for Gleason.

I am going to watch it again...
Wasn't crazy about it but loved the cinematography. Farrell got on my nerves.
