Follow Ups:
Even if he did, would that matter? Do film professors have potentially great films inside them bursting to get out?
My favorite was The Errand Boy.

None of the movies he directed are really great.Ok,he comes up with the Dean Martin-esque alter ego Buddy Love in The Nutty Professor, hysterically funny inspired idea but the movie as a whole is uneven,he sometimes get too hammy with the slapstick and the film doesn't flow all that well. You can say the same for the rest of them, plenty of great sight gags in all of them but I watch The Bell Boy,Family Jewels and I'm left feeling wanting a better film.
