And here's a link to several.
I'm gonna go, and I haven't been in a theatre in 5 years.

In any horror movie it's the audio cues more than anything visual that create suspense and fear. That's certainly true of Alien. Hopefully Scott hasn't forgotten how he used sounds, voices and silence to generate fear. Heck, when I saw Alien back in the 70s with my old man, he jumped about 10 feet in the air after the camera came to rest on a computer that suddenly erupts in mechanical noise at the beginning of the film. Hopefully Prometheus is equally masterful in sound design.

I'm not so sure the "Alien creature" was ever that scary - more so the element of what it was capable of was what got my adrenalin going...
Then again, Ian Holm's artificial person (Ash) was the real corker in my book.

Having an indelible impression of seeing "Alien" in Colorado/1979, I'm really stoked.
Ridley is a world builder in film - a creator, so if the atmosphere lives up to his design I'll be awash in space drama. Plot is for Shakespeare.
Ridley don't fail me now...

and the acting is good. It's just the story and the script which are a
