I need recommendations for lovely TV comedies of the Friends or Frasier kind - with witty dialogue and no slapstick.
Recent foreign movie comedies will also do.
Follow Ups:
A bit late but I am surprised noone mentioned Coupling.
It is like a UK version of friends, but I far prefer it. Plenty of clips on youtube if you want a sample.
Headcase, Portlandia, The Larry Sanders Show, Malcolm In The Middle.

I like the US but our comedies are really getting bad. I like Kath and Kim (Aussie version) and Pulling from the UK. Amazon has them, Amazon UK is cheaper if you can play other region DVD's.

...Married With Children is actually pretty funny in a white trash kind of way.
It is well acted and its excellent cast makes satire of the American Dream come to rest in 1990's suburbia.
A welcome find with chuckles amid lost hopes and mediocrity in an over-achiever's world.
Remember the age of The Smothers Brothers and Flip Wilson shows?
That was entertainment with a capital "E". Funny to boot!

One season, offbeat and nearly totally unknown, about a girl who works in a gift shop at Niagra Falls and lives in a trailer park. Statues and toys talk to her.
You are sad at the end of the series that they didn't make more.

2. Cougar Town
3. Curb your Enthusiasm
4. Entourage

11. Modern Family
12. New Girl

And I never fail to find myself amused (or "touched") at their ending one minute segment.
We keep saying we're goona start watching.
Surprised your list doesn't contain Parks and Recreation. Can't think of a better ensemble cast currently on. Many stars being born (and some older actors' careers getting needed boosts).

I wonder was the bigest hit in France ever.
And in Europe huge!
It was half way funny.

Quite a few good dialogs, even nothing new.
People are loving that film...I am less that luck warm.
But do you know one of the best ever? ( French film ) Audiard was the genius of the text!
If not run and get it.

Dear Tin, No clue.
Mabe you makes a little search?
Now I am scared to ask why... :(

Many we have seen, but lotsa new (for us) ones. Too bad some are not yet available, like the Veep, for instance.

...at Comcast On Demand - Premium Channels - HBO.
It showed a few months ago.
One of the best political comedies I've seen in a long time.
Neither liberal or conservative.
.
Possibly minus the lovely part.
"One this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" - Michael McClure

"Lock up when you're done and don't touch the piano."

his show 'Extras' is very funny. Obviously his 'The Office' is great as well. 'Louis' is a semi autobiographic (as opposed to fully automatic...haha) show starring comedian Louis CK. I think it's very funny..in a Larry David kind of way.
We'll have to agree to disagree about global warming until the next global cooling scare comes along
Lots of fluff and deadpanning in this French farce of a bachelor henpecked by his mother and five sisters to get married. Charlotte Gainsbourg plays his hired accomplished to fool his family with unexpected family foolishness.

That put Mrs. K in good mood! :)

...I don't watch TV much - I'd rather read or book or listen to music.
Seinfeld - 9 seasons on perpetual repeat - never get tired of them. Best comedy ever.
You might like Curb your Enthusiasm - it's like Seinfeld on steroids, much edgier.
30 Rock - Tina Fey's writing at it's height although Alec Baldwin's right wing character may be a little close to home for you.
Veep - 6 episodes available on HBO On Demand - Julia Louis-Dreyfus in a funny and probably realistic political comedy. Give it a few episodes.
Daily Show with Jon Stewart - very funny send-up of current events and politics, particularly good at skewing Faux News. Not a sitcom but required viewing for anyone who wants to be informed.
I find it much wittier than Daily show.
...I like Colbert and agree that it is better written, but the format makes me restless for some reason and I have trouble sitting through it.

being born), Up All Night, Seasons 1-4 of The Office (be patient if you start at the beginning, they soon become brilliant). These all have ensemble casts and no slapstick. Up All Night is the least "Ensemblish."
New Girl with Zoe Deschanel got excellent reviews. I tried, no like. Even tho she is cute beyond belief the rest of the cast, for the most part, is a huge step down.
