A few weeks ago I watched the pilot, and my reaction was quite negative - I was irritated, to be frank.
So I forgot about it for weeks... when I decided to watch the second episode... just to kill time.
To cut to the chase - the second lead to the third, and not I feel I am becoming addicted. I hate it - as there are still 36 episodes to watch!
After the pilot, the show managed to get on firmer footing - I presume the idea behind it was to catch as many TV addicts as possible - from a particular group I don't belong to. But as it goes, it is getting more interesting, and I just hope it will continue to do so.
I already find some performances outstanding, particularly those of Anna Gunn and Aaron Paul. At this point I can't imagine how they can develop this story into dozens of episodes, which makes it so much more intriguing.
Follow Ups:
Ughh! My wife and I are BB fans, but we have DISH, which dropped AMC. We tried to watch the first episode of the new season online but it didn't cut it. We are holding out for NetFlix or dvd. I'm probably one of only a few who can't wait 'til this season is over.
BTW, I almost didn't open this thread. I don't how long I can avoid spoilers.
Every Sunday I move to the other room to watch it. DO NOT DISTURB!

The ending of last Sunday's show was a true Hindenburg moment: out of
the blue and devastating. Regards,

My wife's sister who was visiting, had never seen it. Since we were having a watching party she had no choice. Her typical fare, when she ain't reading the bible, is Survivor and The View.
Her world got rocked!

Just a couple of weeks ago. Its actually great to watch a series this way because you don't have to wait but season 5 is already 5 shows in. I like it a lot but it is a harsh show.

It is indeed an intense show, and two weeks - that's like three episodes a day!!!????
Is that even humanly possible?

I was in a situation at work where things were really intense. It is difficult for me to sleep and difficult to shut my mind down. So I stayed up a lot and watched during lunch time and any break (I work at home).

with whom we watch it ever Sunday nite, both agree that the writers have thought of everthing. No second guessing asking yourself why the character did "this" instead of "that". For a suspenseful drama that has to keep that suspense level high every week, they do a good job of creating believable suspense, instead of Hollywood suspense (if that makes any sense). Only one episode disappointed, the legendary "Fly" episode. You'll either like it or hate it.
I really envy the fun in front of you for the next several weeks as you catch up.

Oh no.....
it goes on and on, crazier and edgier every episode
enjoy
Each season is a little slow in the beginning. Like the guy said, 'when you read 'Moby Dick', you don't see the whale in the first chapter'.
Stories develop slowly and build to a fury by the end of the season.
It's a show that takes its time.
Watch the entire first season and you'll see what I mean.
It only gets better.
