Did a search on Doc Martin, and found one enthusiastic endorsement by Patrick, with NO REPLIES!!!
C'mon, guys... there is no finer fare if you need to become a girly man and schmooze your lady. Whether you need to get out of that dog house, or just trying to be nice to her - Doc Martin is your best friend!
Truth be told, you don't even need to grow tits to enjoy it, it is a fun show at many levels, for everyone. Typically British-witty with great acting and dialogue, full of small intelligent titbits, it keeps you well entertained without making you want to puke.
All this would already be well, but it is also - in my layman's view - incredibly informative, showing so many aspects of small town doctor's job that you are bound to develop new respect for the profession. The diversity of problems he has to deal with, and his treatments of same is breathtaking. Now, I am sure some medical professional might find this and that silly or plain wrong - let them... as far as us, the mere mortals and sick, are concerned, this is all true! :)
HIGHLY recommended.

I've seen all five seasons. Love it! Louisa is beautiful! Beauty in a real and natural way. Charming, eccentric characters all. Great production values. There is a cd of the music available. Series like this make USA tv look false, pandering, obvious, and immature. Check out Martin Clunes in an earlier series, "William and Mary" with Juie Graham who played PC Penhail's estranged wife in Doc Martin.
It's what started it all.
...but there are some great women characters, one of them played by the luscious Caroline Catz. We here gorged on Series 2 - 4 (the rest on order at the library) and we are two manly men. Someone said "tedious" but no, just slower-paced than movies although faster than life. Might the lack of CGI have been a problem?
P.A.
Just finished episode #26... the plot thickens. Stand by for a surprise.

I thought the two prequels were just OK, no more, but the series has developed nicely. Tedious? At the superficial level yes, and it is not without faults, but overall a lovely show.

I like 'The Old Guys' myself..
This woman is using twice the amount of estrogen cream she should.
She puts it in her vagina, which gives her elderly husband woman sized breasts.
But she takes so much that he can't satisfy her, and the surfer dude she
starts banging also gets breasts.
Doc is trying to figure out what the two have in common, so he walks into
the surfer's garage/loft with the husband, only to see wifey lying on a desk; and surfer dude in flagrante delicto...
The series starts about a decade ago with a movie called Saving Grace. It morphed into a tv show. I liked the early episodes, but later they
changed the characters. They became less British, more your standard
TV fare. Especially annoying is that Doc starts out with emotions, he
just has trouble with them. When they take away most of his emotions,
and almost all of his ability to communicate them, well... I found that
excessive and tedious.
But watch Saving Grace, it's a hoot.
