OK but all the misery and dire stories were too much for me. I'm sure it's an accurate detailing from a historical perspective but I'd rather see a one hour documentary on Nova instead of 4 hours of memories of miserable times.At least Nova would explain the cause effectivly. YMMV

Yes I did.I didn't watch the whole thing So maybe my desription is a bit flawed. A more condensed version would be more to my liking though . I'm going to watch the rerun tomorrow nite when I have more time. It is an important part of our history.
They kept hammering on the same points of misery constantly. The event was so hideous that the horror of it all was understood with just half of that testimony.
I liked the parts about the origins of the mess, where the people came from, and what the government's role was. That's stuff I never knew. Hoover was all but hung for it - that and the coinciding Depression.
What a time that was. Exit WW1, proceed directly into the Depression and Dust Bowl era, then keep marching straight into WW2. A large, sweet piece of history.
