What was behind the Star Wars craze. It came out the year I graduated high school. My friend was a projectionist and I walked out on it fairly quickly after getting in free, same with Empire. It was Disney in space to me. I don't like that stuff or James Bond and the like as an adult but did as a kid. I probably would have liked Star Wars if I was younger. I like real Sci-Fi including THX-1138. I'd rather watch reruns of Bonanza than Star Wars and I think Bonanza sucks.

  Horrible as scifi. if not for being space-based, it wouldn't qualify. The first trilogy was pretty bad. The second tried to explain the first by going backward. Lucas said screw it; he was done; but then Disney bought his company and said the game is still afoot. They waved a check at Ford to lock in old audiences, and away we go...

Please do us all a favor and refrain from pawning the latest digital camcorder crap off on JJ Abrams. The kid knows what he's doing (for the most part, so far; not counting being involved with 'Cloverfield') and one of the many reasons the first three (or last three, or middle three or whatever, my head is spinning at this point) are timeless is you guessed it, FILM, my friend. Just ask Stevie.
