...Best Picture - Lincoln.
(Next best - Zero Dark Thirty, then Argo)
Director - Speilberg
Actor - Daniel Day Lewis
Actress - Jessica Chastain
(Next - Jennifer Lawrence)
Supporting Actor - probably Tommy Lee Jones but I thought he was just being himself
Supporting Actress - Too close to call
What are your picks?
Follow Ups:
yet give amazing performances quite outside of the "In Golden Pond" triteness.
Jean-Louis Trintingant should get the Best Oscar, period.
Emmanuelle Riva EASILY gets the Best Actress.
Michael Haneke is shoulders above any other nominated director w/the exception of Tarantino: this is as great a film as his last, "The White Ribbon."
Best Supporting Actor: Waltz. Unforgettable character. Jones' curmudgeon we've seen a thousand times before. He should have gotten the Oscar, perhaps, for "No Country for Old Men."
Picture: Beasts
Director: Benh Zeitlin (imagine what he had to do with people who were not actors
Actpr: Day Lewis
Actress: probably Emmanuel Riva
He won't get the nod but I thought Denzel Washington gave what may have been his best acting performance (say except "Malcolm X") ever, in "Flight".
may get Best Piccy. Which would be a shame.

"I'd like to own a squadron of tanks"
...and usually the best pic and director go hand in hand.
Affleck was shunned, like Bigelow.
Waltz just won. I loved Django Andrews Waltz's performance of Dr.King Schultz - maybe even more than his Colonel Landa in Inglourious Basterds (which was an amazing turn). I dunno if it's the best performance but I'm happy for the talented Herr Waltz, who seems like a genuine, modest fellow.
I personally would have given it to Hoffman, but the momentum was with Waltz.

I'm ok with that. If Argo wins anything I will be so turned off. A Hollywood film about Hollywood saving the day because the CIA is incompetent unless Hollywood gets involved...all it needs is more Hollywood awards. Can a film be more insular?
