This is a well-crafted film that looks and plays "big" on a small budget. Jacob has a skin condition which forces him to work at night. As he gets closer to his 25th birthday things start to change and new appetites develop. Enter Mary who is immediately taken with Jacob and does her best to ingratiate and attach herself. As the plot thickens she finds herself in for more than she bargained.
This is a very quiet script with moody lighting and lots of development. It is a different take on the oft-told tale that always seems to have glamor and dazzle. What if ordinary Joe's got the "fever"? Well, this Joe is named Jacob and we see a real street-level perspective of his world.
Good performances, good script, good cinematography. Everything about the film is "maximized" beyond its budget. If you don't like this type of story line don't bother.

The third volume is due sometime this year. Vol. 1, "The Passage" is
perfect for RS. Expect "Alien" quality vampires. Regards,
J.R.
There was such a delay between book one and two, I had to refresh my character histories!
Book two did a classic shark jumping maneuver, similar to Alien.
It takes the whole first book to kill one "master," then they take care of all the others without as much effort.

Read a few things that say the script is being written for "Necroscope".
These, I think, will require a wacky touch, say Roberto Rodriguez with
Tarantino controlling him with a cattle prod. The Necroscope series is
so Grand Guignol that it could be a real treat on the Silver Screen.

J.R.
...disappointed about the delay of the Ranch Doritos taco at the Bell.

Have you seen Near Dark? I always thought that if there were vampires this would be what they were like.
