...Rolland Emmerich (Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow) does it again - this is the best semi-mindless action movie I have seen this summer and I have seen a few.

Jamie Foxx plays Obama and Channing Tatum saves the free world - the audience clapped at the end.

What more do you need to know?

Highly recommended.

American melodrama and Hollywood at it's worst

If you want action try Fast & Furious 6, far superior to WHD though they are both absolutely mindless crap

      It's really bad....anyone who thinks it is good has their politics in the way.
      
      They should have a rule: Only one White House Invasion movie a year. This one was number two..a distant two.

      one example of why this is a silly movie is: if there was an explosion at the White House the Secret Service would not stand around letting the bad guys shoot them down, at the very least it would be fifty fifty and (more likely) the SS would be mowing them down. I was able to look past that in the interest of a fun experience but that is one reason why I think this movie is just plain silly.
