Saw it last night. It's as if Neill Blomkamp cleaned up the set from Distict 9 a bit and made another movie on the same set... and the end result was not much better.

I saw District 9 with my son. We'll see anything through, but came close to walking out on District 9.

I liked some aspects but overall bleak, very bleak

...but not as good as District 9.
It reminded me a little of Oblivion and then Elysium reminded me of Wall-E - it lacked the creativity and originality of District 9.
Guess that's what happens when you get big name stars and a big Hollywood budget.
But if the Occupy movement is correct, it's a future we have to look forward to.
I'd give it B-.
TOO much pointless, non-stop violence. Cardboard characters and 2001 grade FX. Yawn.
