This is a pretty funny film. The acting, script, impeccable timing, and stagecraft all come together to make a rather silly plot a pretty good time. Simon Pegg heads a well-known cast in a re-living of Pegg's fantasy of achieving the "Golden Mile" pub crawl which they failed to do in 1990.Pegg's character, still suffering from arrested development, manages to cajole and push his four settled high school buddies into returning to their hometown to reignite their youth under his boyish leadership. While doing the "mile" they find that things have changed quite a bit and end up struggling to finish it with their lives intact. At the end of the night it seems their way of life has ended.
Because this is Brit humor it might be best for most to wait for the DVD. Surprisingly, the local talkie had quite a matinee crowd.

I have been trying to get other people to watch their other movies, (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and Paul), by lending them my DVD, HD-DVD, and/or BR, depending upon their equipment, and those that have seen them, have loved them too!
Now those people are excited to watch The World's End too!!!
...to see Pegg and Frost revisiting this territory. Not just a 'Shaun II' but they're older and unwiser.
how Rotten Tomatoes rating was 90 I do not know
by far the worst of the films Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have been in together
growing up and not. Not to mention wonderfully choreographed pub fighting between the robots and drunks. I thought Eddie Marsan did a crackerjack job of his character.
cringe worthy really
.
this one seemed phoned in
also (maybe) Simon Pegg was showing off his acting chops
