A long wait is over for me when Marathon Man is released Sept 10. Look forward to rediscovering it in HD. For that matter it's my favorite Roy Scheider or William Devane movie, too.

Marthe Keller was sooo very hot then. The drill was the harbinger of nasty horrors to come. In my college kid naivete I didn't realize that Schieder and DeVane were gay partners until re-watching it many years later.

William Friedkin's Sorcerer. This came out right after MM, the actors play Mens' Men. A harrowing, edge of yer seat, suspense tale of men, with nothing to lose, taking life and death risks in the South American jungle.
His role in The French Connection didn't suck either.
