I noticed tv shows no longer show up in the 'released recently' category on Netflix.
I called again to ask about this. I WAS TOLD THAT THE 'NEW RELEASES' are just 'suggestions' AND DO NOT SHOW ALL THE NEW RELEASES.
I was told to try the 'new in tv section'. I looked and saw 13 shows, NOTHING NEW, just old crap like 'Copper' and 'The Carol Burnett show'.
No 'Castle'. No 'Big Bang Theory'. No 'Supernatural'. No 'Person of Interest'. No 'Elementary'.
In other words THERE IS NO WAY ON NETFLIX TO SEE THESE IN THE NEW RELEASE SECTION.
They're doing this on purpose, making it harder to find things on disc you want to see. SO THEY CAN MAIL FEWER DISCS and you will look instead for streaming which costs them less money.
Any company which INTENTIONALLY CRIPPLES IT'S SERVICES TO IT'S CUSTOMERS IS FULL OF SH*T.
Reed Hastings is an idiot and has to go.

Follow Ups:
I don't do even that now, I buy a BluRay or two now and then.
Given family schedules, my free time is to precious to "waste" on TV watching for more than an hour or two a week. Seriously.

Hey! I have a blog now: http://mancave-stereo.blogspot.com or "like" us at https://www.facebook.com/mancave.stereo
I think that they are merely concentrating on the movies first, although they certainly have all the TV shows too.
I like Netflix well enough, so I will keep supporting them.
Sorry you are perturbed by them so much.
I like them too, for Blurays, etc. Their stock of new releases has improved over the years too, possibly at the expense of slightly more limited obscure stuff.
For the last few years I go to a separate "New Blu-ray Releases" website to see what's just come out then use the search function in Netflix.
The only reason I stick with the discs is because the new releases always seem to be delayed via streaming. Don't know if this has changed.
fwiw
They got so stingy that I only got two disks a week down from about 15 a month. They didn't even care....no survey as to why I was quitting.
with your whining.
"Search"
'Learn to read'.
It's not about not being able to search. Search is fine is you know what you're looking for. And the fact that I have to type that sentence out for you tells me you're an idiot.
