After doing all the "Breaking Bad"s on Netflix....

I've switched over to "Dexter". Dexter is good but the writing and acting and characters are a little less quality wise.Then again "Dexter" is adequate and good enough for the story.It doesnt have the high energy that BB had.

After giving up on all the new series' on tv, Dexter is providing some needed satisfaction.

When "The Sopranos" finally comes to Netflix, I will try that.

Dexter seasons 1,2 and 4 were the best but seasons 5-8 were fine - not as good but still better than 95% of everything else on TV or in the movie theaters so all isn't lost. It was hard to better John Lithgow - they never did. But Season 3 isn't any better than 5,6,7,8. So it depends how you take 3 I suppose. Personally I found season 3 to be one of the weakest of the lot.

Do not watch past season 4. The show should've ended right there. I can't think of any other series that was so good but fell so far; if you invest yourself in it past that point you'll just be angry at everyone behind the show and yourself for getting involved. Enjoy seasons 1-4, but trust me....it ends there. BTW I thought BB was the greatest series ever.

  I finished Season 4 a few months back and found little desire to proceed further. Became repetitive and predictable. About the same time my son recommended Breaking Bad. Wow, all I can say is that BB is rock solid from start to finish. And yes, they knew when (and how) to wrap it up. It also gets my vote for "best series" ever.

  The Killing, also an AMC show. Excellent show, and if BB didn't exist I'd say its AMCs best series in its history.
  - Agree on Dexter altho the Julia Stiles season had its moments (due to her) - Road Warrior 16:15:40 11/21/13 (1)
    and double agree on The Killing. Screw the Season 1 naysayers who dropped out after the inconclusive first conclusion, it was well worth the wait to find out who was the Rosie Flores killer.

      I really liked season 5 but would agree you should stop there.
