Actually, the film's title is a misnomer: a family is held hostage, no kidnapping involved. Still, this basic little plot has no fat; from the hair-raising opening scene through the carnage of the last, it doesn't let up.
Unlike most films of the type, there is some thought devoted to the unfolding of the plot, with some truly chilling deductions laid bare.
Warning: ONLY for those with a certain love of the grind house type of violence.

      that all the violence was precipitated by the "victims." This considerably made it more interesting.
      However, it may not have mattered because of the somewhat mysterious opening scene with the guy with the bag on his head�.
