overcharged.
Personally, MK, I didn't think Franco's character was the least bit scary. Like when Robin Williams took a career detour into thinking he could play scary, James just can't (for me) escape his persona as a brainy (Math Phd), sensitive urbane guy.
The other rednecks, however, were just fine.
I guess this film suffered because I saw "Road House" a couple of weeks ago. Swayze was dynamite as was Ben Gazzara as the nemesis.
Did you pay money to see, "Homefront?"

...Road House on a 6 inch screen, too?
It's a classic.
Whether you watch it or not, you pay for the movie in your plane ticket.
How far has her beauty slipped.
And casting her, as a tough moll? Wow. Make's Franco's casting seem intelligent.
Waiting for the come uppence for the bad guys
Franco tried but wimped more than threatened
I do agree Winona was great-gritty and true to character--pity wasted in this dosh.
I think though the earthy look and roles may be her saviour now.
Des
misunderstood my point about Winona: she is NOT convincing, to me, as a low-life. I thought the film failed, partially, because neither she nor Franco can really play anything but what they obviously are---- smart, arty.
...you two are very full of yourselves.
It's a popcorn action flick, that like most, is not meant for condescending part-by-part critical assessment.
You suspend reality and enjoy it - or you don't.
A guilty pleasure, not intended to be great cinema by any means.
Your logic would lead one to sit through any shit, quietly and obediently.
99% of films are entertainment. This one was one of the poorer of that 99% in current release. Still, it was better than reading the airline magazine for the third time or trying to figure out which passenger's fart was wafting to my unappreciative nostrils.
...who thinks "Road House" is in the top 1%.

...just like the OPThanks for playing.
