Don't miss this one, it's a future classic and will be revered as much as Breaking Bad is.
Follow Ups:
Billy Bob was terrific, and it was nice to see Keith Carradine in a supporting role. Plenty of exaggerated ohyahs, dontchaknows and youbetchas, and I like how they've set up the story arc for the season.
Will I be watching next week? Oh yah, you betcha!
Can't wait for future episodes. I hope it's got half the legs of BB

Fargo is a serious movie making, of pretty high caliber.
Breaking Bad is just another trashy TV show.
There's a new series based on the film on TV, also produced by the Coen brothers. The first episode was very good and has the same mood as the film.
Based only on the pilot, I find Breaking Bad far superior to Fargo. My opinion may change with time as the show develops.

...you might find the first season mildly entertaining, but all downhill, and fast, from even that moderate level.
Fargo, OTOH, is subtle and done with good taste and gentle touch.
fresh and more or less believable throughout its life. Quite an accomplishment considering the small, as opposed to epic, scale, and the focus on the main character's family and close personal relationships.

Not always easy to watch, and many of the characters vacillated between being sympathetic and without redeeming qualities, but the writing was genuinely fresh and sharp.
Looking forward to checking out Fargo.

I agree.

I've seen all of Breaking Bad. I didn't find the Fargo pilot to be subtle or as good as Fargo, the film.

Not sure. Breaking Bad? Not after the first episode. It will need to get better.

What didn't you like about it? I thought it was a great premiere with a superb cast and at least three solid story lines to follow. Can't ask for anything more in a series.
Unbelievable characters.
