...since we're talking about films released earlier - we just got around to seeing this last night.
After all of the reviews and ratings saying this was Anderson's best film yet, I was disappointed.
I still think Moonrise Kingdom is his best and even Fantastic Mr. Fox was more enjoyable.
Visually it was as stunning as I would expect from Anderson and the actors were good, but it kept me at a distance and I really didn't care what happened to any of the characters.
Should have waited for the DVD.

for the role, too emotionally distant. Still, fine entertainment and it was fun to identify the cameos.
I've never been a fan of Anderson's films; he tries SO hard to be clever and MEANINGFUL.
Theater was surprisingly full here in Eugene.
...it's just the overall emotional tone was one of sorrow.Moonrise Kingdom was much more uplifting.

like the rest of his stuff.
I always think of the word 'quirky' when trying to describe his films. What the heck does that mean?
I think we both (his movies and myself) need an upgrade in substance.
