A down on his luck sports agent (Joe Hamm from the "Mad Men" tv series) goes to India to search for major league pitching arms to bring home and develop. He returns with two boys from Indian villages, who go through various cultural shocks on their way to major league baseball. This is a true story.
And well done. Great scenes of Mumbai and Indian villages, but this is not a Bollywood production. Its a Disney creation, and the various relationship developments are the story's focus. Changes all around for everyone involved. I can't say that the other actors are household names, except Alan Arkin, but you'll recognize a few of them.
You should see this one, but stay through the credits to see photos of the actual characters. And if you have never heard Indian rap music, that alone will be worth the ticket.

Not as much as I enjoyed The Chef, but it was enjoyable.
...especially Lake Bell. I like her ...and she's easy on the eyes.

Works for him on Mad Men.
Not so much anywhere else.

It may be why he was picked for this role. He plays a dispassionate guy who's only concern is his own ass and the bottom line. Very much a Mad Men mold. The character pretty much ran in that mold until he sobered near the end. In fact he took a couple of jump starts before he finally caught on.
I think Hamm was perfect for this.
Oh wait, been there, done . . .
Hamm is plagued by a mono-dimensional persona that lacks expression and emotion. He was lucky to get 'Mad Men' where that works but not here.
I liked the feel-good vibe of the film but grew weary of Hamm's lack of ham--Arkin should give him lessons.
basically making fun of himself and vapid pretty boys. "The Bubble" was one of the best 30 minute comedies to come down the pike in a long time/

I don't think a reviewer ever enjoys a film. Its a job.
Music direction is by Oscar winning ( For Slum Dog Millionaire ) AR Rahman who has already had hundreds of great Hindi songs for Bollywood films. He also travelled with Rolling Stones for their recent tours.
What a pity the film lasted only two days in the theatres here and I missed it. Indians are so submerged in Cricket, they dont like seeing anything about Baseball.
Talking about Cricket, there is a hit Hindi movie about a village team defeating an England team during colonial times. It was nominated for Oscar for best foreign film. The film is Lagan and I think it is on Netflix with subtitles. There is romance (as all Bollywood movies) and outstanding music by AR Rahman.
Best Wishes
