  The story of a heart attack victim whose biggest threat after the attack was our medical system, circa 1980 or so. Heartbreaking.....

  I have a lot of favorites, including his work in the MOW, "Heartsounds." He played a doomed heart patient. The movie really centered on his wife's struggle to keep him alive, the wife played by Mary Tyler Moore. But Garner's (subtle and nuanced, if you can pardon the cliche) portrayal really touched me. I also watched (and continue to) all Rockfords and Mavericks. His passing really hits a nerve with me, and I'm sure so many others. :(
