and this seems to be the sole purpose of the film. I'm not sure how the short story worked but this seems to be an exercise in creating something out of nothing. I liked watching ScarJo and some of the characters but am still wondering what it was all aboot.

SPOILAGE

Was Scarlett harvesting skins for future use? When one of the victims seem to "pop" his skin seemed empty of any and all internal tissue. Did the deformed guy go free because she felt sorry for him or because they couldn't use his skin?

The idea in the book and perhaps in the film was the character played by Scarlett was one of many sent here to set up meat packing plants for gourmet demand back on the home planet. The motorcyclists were, what, senior coordinators?

somewhat apparent that Scarlett slowly was becoming "human." She wanted to experience what these curious folks around her were experiencing.

  She knew she was in trouble after the deformed guy got away. She was taking flight to stay alive. As you noticed, she was not equipped for human "play" so I think she was hiding the best she could.

  She was luring men to their doom, and then starting to feel bad about it - for whatever reason. Maybe she was becoming more human, or, as you say,. . . not.
