as amazing as he was in "The Guard," though portraying a very different character.
He plays a priest in a small coastal Irish (what else?) town who one day is told, in confession, that the "penitent" is going to kill him in one week. Why? Because the priest is "innocent" of any of the famous crimes the priesthood has become renowned for.
Plenty of excellent dialogue, many fine Irish actors, and the glorious title character fully brought to life by the larger-than-life Gleeson.
Follow Ups:
with some tiny glimpses of humor. Intelligent dialogue. Memorable characters. Stunning Irish location. And Gleason should at least be nominated for an Oscar, although I'm pretty sure he will not be. As a movie, it's one of the best I've seen in a very long time. But you don't exactly feel like dancing a jig afterwards.
Yep he's great!
