Well... Verdi is more like it...
If you are a classical music lover, then you simply must see this petite delight - Quartet, directed by Dustin Hoffman.
He broke no new grounds, and the story is corny, but the actors, the setting, and the music intertwine together to create a wonderful and moving experience.
90 minutes, filled with great music, brought to you by Netflix, where there is nothing to watch.
Follow Ups:
Great film, great cast.
.
Well actually I don't care much for classical music really at all and this is still a great film to me. And like oldmkvi I too loved all the actual musicians used and the ending credits

I did appreciate it. I'm a big fan of Maggie and Gambon.
in the Movie!
Did you see " My Old Lady " yet?
With Kevin Klein and Maggie.
I like everything I've seen with her.
...such a marvel, his love for music is so obvious in that film.
I don't dislike Brahms at all, love some of his pieces, he is just not my favorite composer.

One of the few judging from all the Brahms-Bashing I've read, both here and elsewhere.
Just don't understand it.
Our new Samsung washer and drier play Schubert's Trout when finished.
I think washers too should have Wi-Fi.

wasteland; I'm considering dropping the streaming. I am not a fan of series; those I may find amusing can be seen when collected on DVD and available at the local library.
Typical Netflix story: last night, I sat down w/the wife to watch the Turkish film you recommended. It would not load. Everything else on my list would, but not that.
My list is only four films, now, and they're mostly convenience films that I could get at the library if I had to. I will, in the near future. Netflix, by committing to tv and ignoring the film world, has lost me.
I don't think I'll become a part of its "hard copy" customer base, either, since I've seen all the older films I want to and Netflix is buying VERY few newer foreign "art" films. Very few.
The glory days are over….
She's great in Travels with my Aunt and Love and Pain and the Whole Damn Thing is interesting too. Hey, I wonder if Bill Cosby raped her when they did California Suite. Just kidding.......

We had wonderful time last night, watching the Quartet.
Haven's seen Miss Brodie, she is now in our very long queue. :-)

Did you see "Spiral" a French police/legal drama series?...it's passable.
“Somebody was always controlling who got a chance and who didn’t. - Charles Bukowski
available and now it's down to the last season only. I was thinking about reviewing on season one. Oh well.
