critics' lists as one of the top films of all time.
Certainly, it is one of the most scathing parodies of the upper-classes ever made, but it isn't just the style that hasn't aged well, it is the acting, the pacing, and the story. I almost fell asleep, actually. Still, it must be seen, if but for one scene depicting a dozen perfectly outfitted hunters massacring scores of rabbits and birds driven to them by a small army of servants. It is impossible not to think of WWI when seeing this.

I can't tell you whether I would agree with you regarding the aging, since it's been long time, but one thing for sure, the whole atmosphere is unforgettable.

  "Admires" may be too weak. Worships. That's more accurate.
