It's impossible for me to think of Macnee without envisioning his most remembered character, John Steed, from that hip sixties TV series, The Avengers.
And if we remember The Avengers and John Steed, it is even more impossible to consider that without his, Steed's, most memorable series partner, Mrs. Peel. Emma Peel.
Peel/Diana Rigg still lives and is older than those of us who came of age while watching The Avengers.
RIP Patrick Macnee.
His memory lives on in the minds of his audience.

Follow Ups:
Emma Peel was probably my first crush as a young lad - her and Louise Jameson (Leela in Doctor Who).
Steed and Peel were fun - James Bond times Two.
It's a shame the movie was such an epic disaster - When i first read about the cast Ralph Fiennes, Sean Connery, Uma Thurman, Patrick McNee I was hugely excited - but unfortunately the humour was lost, the story was inane.
