No, not the old Dean Martin movie. It's a documentary about studio musicians. It seems most of the hits in the 50's and 60's - same guys (and gals) were playing on them.
It's the most interesting documentary on pop music I've seen since 'When Records Ruled the World'.

Follow Ups:
I thought about it as the wrecking crew musicians were portrayed working with Brian Wilson.
...anywhere other than the theaters?
...until the dvd is release, who-knows-when.

Homer Simpson
I streamed it over the weekend. Nice tribute by a son to his father. There are a lot of good docs on bands and backup musicians available on Netflix.

First, good list...My favorite part of Shine a Light...is when Mick won't give the Marty the set list...just to let Marty know...he is Mick Friggin Jagger...total prick until he hits the stage...unbelievable transformation...
Sound City...damn...what a line up...that board is in Grohl's Home studio...pretty cool...
Kurt Cobain, Montage of Heck...this is an extremely personal look at Cobain, with lots of home movies that were painful to watch at times...
I really enjoyed Sonic Highways...that Grohl did...really great interviews with legendary musicians in each city they recorded a new song in a famous studios across the country...8 hours, 8 cities...
The Art of Rap: Something from Nothing...done by Ice-T. I am not big rap fan, but I did really enjoy this...
The Clash Westway to the world...and The Rise and Fall of the Clash...both worth a watch...London Calling is in my top 10 all time albums...
George Harrison Living in the Material World...this one I really really liked...George had many different interests and I learned things I never really knew about him...all the Movies he produced, his love of Formula 1 racing, gardening and of course his spirituality...quite the renaissance man...IMHO
Thanks
Mark

because he we artistically challenged or because he could not get along with anyone?
"because he we artistically challenged or because he could not get along with anyone?" Probably both. I like when they were forming Blind Faith and had decided not to use Ginger but he showed up anyway what an awkward position for the other members.
