He did not have the final cut...his version was much better movie...according to him...so much for him doing the sequel...
This whole movie felt like just a precursor for a sequel...nothing really moved at all...
I don't know if you noticed, but some scenes in the trailers were NOT in the movie...so I am guessing things got pretty chopped up in editing...
I was raised on Marvel Comics growing up and spending my summers at cabin in way northern MN...we did not have TV, but a little gas station/mom and pop grocery store...so my younger brother and I would go once a week when the new comics came in bought whatever we could...they started at $.10, then $.15 then $.25, then $35 and then stopped buying them when they hit $.50...this went from ages 6-12
To the purists this is not the origins story. Many fans do not like Marvels attempts to have more diversity in their super heroes with Johnny Storm being African American and Sue Storm, his sister being white and adopted...I personally don't care...
This to me just never really found its legs...casting was fine, it just didn't really jell...Dr. Doom was not defined enough, overall...
2.75 starts out of 5 stars...I think the sequel has more potential than this...way too much back story.
Thanks

Why can't they just leave the goddamn comic characters alone and stop trying to force some kind of "kumbaya" ethos upon us?
I felt very much the same way when they put a little black girl into the character of Annie, although that one was not quite the stretch that FF is. Enough, already, with the casting of black folks in what have always been roles for white folks. Try to imagine the uproar that would ensue if Uncle Tom's Cabin was fronted by a white guy - it simply makes no sense...
PS: And one minor correction - comics went from 10 cents to 12 cents and stayed there for several years, 3 or 4 IIRC. They then went to 15 cents and that's about the time I checked out...

Like I said it really did not bother me one way or the other...PC is here to stay...so I just let it ride...MN Liberal...
My comics bought at very rural mom and pop grocery store used their own price tags and jack-up EVERYTHING when they could...so that's what I paid...
Thanks
