Grey Gardens...

...I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this 1976 documentary on two aging, eccentric relatives of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Edie Bouvier Beale and her mother, Edith, who live in a a deteriorating Long Island estate.

My wife, her sister back in Philly and her two daughters were almost obsessed with it.

When my wife watched it last year, I happen to sit down and get captured by it - I'll say it is fascinating.

Then last Thursday on Documentary Now! (IFC channel) Fred Armisen and Bill Hader did a mockumentary of Grey Gardens.

It was fall-on-the-floor funny.

the Barrymore/Sarandon (I think) recent film done on HBO a couple years back and have wanted to see the 75 doc. I look forward to seeing it.

I'm sure Fred and Bill were a hoot!

  ...never saw the movie - reality is much more disturbing.
  They allowed a camera crew to follow them around on the estate for a few days.
