Don't let the moderate ratings fool you - it is actually quite a bit better, than they would suggest. It is surprisingly interesting and is a home to several good performances, including the two leading actors Michael Pitt and Nina Arianda, plus the great Andy Garcia, who shamelessly steals every scene he's in.
It is a based on true story, moderately heavy entertainment, mixed with some near black humor, and the undeniable tension - at times it feels almost painful watching the plot develop.
Follow Ups:
he's gotta eat, you know. Some of it is good and he is far better aged than otherwise.
Much better than I thought it might be, subtle where it counted.
Coupla nice cameos from made guys we've seen before as well.
I'm surprised Michael Pitt hasn't made it to "stardom" yet.
Must need a better management team.
