I watched the first two years. It was a great concept - a criminal takes over the identity of a dead lawman.

But it was pure pornography. Violence porn, nudity porn, sex porn. Good God, if I ever see another naked ass bouncing up and down it will be too soon. I feel so sorry for what the women actors in this show had to do. They just wanted a job.

And the violence, the sadism, the insane brutality - it was so over the top it made no sense at all.

This was an awful show. Just awful. And the plots got so ridiculous it was impossible to take seriously.

Crazy sloppy ride but character driven. Great acting and great writing. I really came to love it after just being thrilled.

no terribly compelling characters, fair acting, story line, writing.

Just didn't do it for me and I'm usually interested in such a "genre" series.

If I recall, it is/was done by the "True Blood" folk?

That series REALLY sucked though it started strong.

And that's not just my opinion. A very strong following. Comic book type over-the-top personality complexes, led by Hoon Lee, the most complicated gender bender seen anywhere.

All this roles along well underneath the gratuitous violence and sex. Banshee was graphic, no doubt, but the setup was brilliant; carried to a finality that held no changes except for acceptance of it.

I understand people being turned off, but I think it had worth. The producers pulled the plug early (no fifth season) because it artisticaly ran its course -- no ratings trouble with this one.
