I did, in Season II when things were relatively uncomplicated. Took forever and that was only doing the highlights. Not many shows have such a complex history lingering over ever episode. Now we even know the true origin of the Whitewalkers.

You need a playbook to keep track. My barber LOVES it and watches
ALL the previous season before the start of the latest season. PLUS
she's read all the books up to the current season. That's probably
the best way to stay abreast of developments, but I'm just not that
dedicated.
