I have to qualify myself here as possibly being the only person on the planet who liked this 1987 (or '89?) film. Routinely slammed as one of worst of all time, it was on a cable channel last night, looking very opulent. Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman are CIA spy types in the mythical Islamic kingdom of Ishtar.
There are some funny periods, but I enjoyed the colorful settings most. You might like to revisit this bomb to update any opinion you had of it. I doubt I can influence anyone in that regard, but for free, it's worth it. Especially if you like camels.

...it became available on cable TV. Perhaps I'll give it another view if I happen to find it in a line-up somewhere. I'm guessing TCM, by now, may have it.
Hmmmm, Hoffman and Beatty in a 1987 Hollywood bust. Could be fun. 'Tho I wonder how it might look in light of today's tragic and horrifying mid-eastern political context.... Is there anything left over there to laugh about?

I felt that it was a masterpiece of discomforting realism on film. The purpose of the film was to show how rude, disgusting, and materialistic certain aspects of American society are and I think that the film accomplished that task very well. The film made you want to barf and within the context of a story about the inner workings of Las Vegas, barfing would be the proper moral response.

.
Not a Demi Moore fan, no matter how barf-worthy the performance.

Then you'd like it too.

Probably find Sharknado trilogies before this ever shows up again. I can't get past the title.
