...the critics are raving about this film and it scores at the top with Manchester by the Sea.It's a film about the coming of age of a black man, who happens to be gay, in 3 chapters which depict different parts of his life growing up.
It is very well acted and well done.
But it didn't touch me or affect me as much as Manchester did. But it did resonate with me for a few days afterward.
YMMV

Just saw it. I liked it. My wife thought it was a little depressing as she likes happy ending movies.I loved the screen photography and this is a movie to see in a movie theater IMO.
I finally found the sweet spot in our movie theater, but I still plug my ears because I always think the sound is way too loud.
I liked seeing so many black faces. We're too race-centric hear, always just wanting to see pale white faces IMHO.

...I thought Manchester was harder to watch because it was more depressing.
At least at the end of Moonlight, I felt there was more hope.
