This will be a great popcorn hit. It has three to four times the violence of the first JW and maybe half the plot time. Who needs plot when the movie opens with an extended demolition derby?
Action, action, action, as John eschews retirement and still seeks out his magic Mustang which he finds in Peter Stomare's garage. After wiping out half the landscape JW returns home only to be visited by a heavy-weight Roman criminal who holds Wick's "marker". All the Roman asks is to kill his sister so he can get her seat on the Council of 12. Reluctantly Wick goes and does what he has to do only to be double-crossed and face an army of assassins. I do mean army.
Wick's bad behavior gets him kicked out of The Continental Hotel and placed on an open, worldwide contract. He limps off into the future having to face every assassin everywhere. Nice ending. JW3 ought to be kick ass.
No need to speak of acting but the locations in Rome were splendid. Art direction big thumbs up and whomever makes up the blood or takes the tumbles gets a bonus.
It is what it is. Go see and try to count all the perps who go down to JW.

This one has more violence than 'Old Boy', either version.
I'm sure John Wick wasn't for everyone - but we found the film more enjoyable every viewing so we beelined to the theatre to see Chapter 2 as a Valentine outing. No, it wasn't a "romantic" film but at least there was a lot of RED.
John Wick Chapter Two continues the thread with choreographed fight scenes that combine theatrics and video game shoot outs. The cinematography was shady and the John Wick character evolved into being more morally corrupted. John Wick is a hip, murderous James Bond whose only cause has become himself. The "underground" of assassins was elaborated and super entertaining. Shopping for bullet proof suits and purchasing guns was scripted like planning an elegant social event. The mute assassin was riveting and the "bathtub scene" was stunning and moving. Without giving more away- we loved it. Both my girlfriend and I said we felt guilty for laughing out loud at the violence- but it was so much like a thrilling cartoon -who cares!
The 1st JW is excellent! I will see the 2nd part later this week.
not worth 90 on RT, more like 70 imo...
I guess there is a market for this but I wish I had seen Lego Batman instead :)
...Lego Batman got better reviews :-)
I liked the part in the first one where he let the older British guy go home, instead of killing him.
And the Sound effects were great, had a bit fun watching it!
...it was interesting, violent and a little stylish.
I'll probably wait for streaming for this one, too.
It is really a beautifully crafted film.
