...The Founder is of course a drama about Ray Kroc who founded McDonalds at 52 and the McDonald brothers who owned the hamburger stand he cloned. This one particularly interested me since I had read Kroc's biography and had lived in San Bernardino in 1966 where my friends showed me the original, called "Big M", and the McDonalds right across the street.
I'd give it a B- It's an interesting, well done film but there is really no hero to root for.
Split is M. Knight Shyamalan's latest attempt to regain the height he achieved with The 6th Sense and he fails pretty miserbly.
It is fascinaing if you are interested in multiple personalities and James McEvoy puts on an acting workshop playing a number of his 23 personalities.
The film isn't as scary as you might think and the ending really sucks so I'd give it a D.

I thought it was excellent because it showed the ugly side of business in America and how greed and character flaws influence it all.
I couldn't help but feel sorry for the McDonald brothers for their naivety and inflexibility. The fact that Kroc took away their burger stand's name was inconceivable. This was not about heroes, it was about cads.
Our local newspaper had a long article about the film and the Krocs when it was due for release because she still is here and a major philanthropist.
My take was exactly yours. Ray was a drunk and robbed those boys.
I'll watch it on Netflix when it goes to streaming.
