It's been a very long time since I've watched this movie, but I do remember my favorite part was when Laughton got the protagonist and the panther woman in the same room, and then with that "Tales of Ribaldry" look said, "Well, I'll just leave you two kids alone."

yes, that was a telling moment. The good (I should have said evil) Doctor wants to see how his favorite subject adapts to the moment when presented with an elligible male human. Will she revert to her panther instincts and tear him to shreds or what!
