From his review:

Your uncle was in the KKK? That explains a lot.
>Yes, about midway through the film I began to feel animosity in the audience of which I was very much a minority.>
It was an anti-racist film. Why did he feel uncomfortable?
>In a way, this film could have been fun and entertaining while getting a few points across without all the political invective Spike chose to deliver.>
Oh, he thought it was going to be a comedy buddy movie like Kevin Hart does. No wonder he was disappointed...
It was a RACIST film, period. Spike overstepped his podium.
"To Learn Who Rules Over You, Simply Find Out Who You Are Not Allowed to Criticize."
...yes, but as depicted in the film, against bigoted white men from the Civil War through Charlottsville, last year - where not much has changed.
If the shoe fits...
The trailers sure as hell don't match up to the actual content of the film. The film is no different than a Nazi propaganda film: hate whites in the here and now. That's a bad, non-healing message that effects both you and me.
I think this is probably the most vile and offensive movie Lee has made.
> The film is no different than a Nazi propaganda film...>
LOL! That would be "Death of a Nation".
Lee's film realistically creates the 1970s world of the KKK with their hate, bigotry and racism.
He links it back to the Civil War and then to Charlottsville today.
It is vile and offensive that David Duke, the alt-right, the KKK and neo-Nazis are still around demonstrating and spewing hate.
That should offend everyone and is the film's message.
We can't heal until we have equality.
Looks like you felt picked on.
