I am in the process of setting up a home theater using a projector(to be found at some future date. I want to shoot the image directly on a pure white wall bordered by black paint which will create the screen size. I was told there is a special white paint that can be used to create a picture screen. Anybody out there know of such a thing. I was going to use regular bright white paint in flat. Also, any input on a better method of creating a screen? It doesn't have to retract. This is going to be a dedicated video room.
Thank you!

Hi thereYou need to spend some reading time at the DIY screen section of the AVS Forum. You can read about mixing your own or buying premade (Goo).
You'll need to make sure your wall is _really_ flat, if you want to get proper focus and also eliminate viewing distractions. Very few walls are truely flat.
Actual screen color will depend on the projector you use. LCD projectors tend to have poor black-level, so screens are often painted grey or silver. CRT projectors usually use flat or eggshell pure-white screens.
