Once you've gone down the front-projection path, all TVs (even really, really big ones) look like toys. No matter how good the TV is, it's still a TV, and will never give you the truly immersive experience a front-projection setup can do.

But it feels like overkill to me for watching the Rachel Maddow Show. The Weather Channel or Designed To Sell.
Not veryone has room for one, and sometimes I just want to turn on the TV. Period.
Get both. Use a 50" or larger plasma for non-movie watching and, for the immersive experience, pull the screen down for the projector.
but the price of Front projector bulbs for everyday watching was still cheaper than buying a kickbutt "secondary" flat panel display in the same room.
