It'll work just fine!
ive hooked up both digital outs on my dvd player to 2 h.t. amps.its so I can hear more speakers if I want.I dont play both very often. It works good on discs that were not made right.some of my discs dont have rear channel info.it just brings more sound in the room.the other amp has the fronts in the rears,so those disc sound a little better with both amps on.
How will you control the volume if you run the DVD player directly to the amps? Are you thinking of using the digital volume control that exists in some DVD players? That will work, but you'd be further compromising sound quality in an already sound quality compromised format (DVD movie audio). If you don't want a multi-channel receiver or surround preamp, there are a few multi-channel passive volume controls available. Another option is multiple stereo passive volume controls.
