Hello
I am looking at a dvd receiver. I want an 'all in one' unit so my wife
can play a cd or listen to the radio. Any other unit or brand I should look at? I do not want to spend alot on this since I have my main system. Two or five channel does not make any difference since I
only use unit in stereo.
thanks
Frank

I don't want to spend a ton of money on components and NAD, IMO, is a good quality mid-fi equipment that you can buy at pretty much high lo-fi prices. I don't know about the piece you are looking at. I've linked the review page. Not sure why you would want a combination receiver/dvr. You could go for the NAD C 725BEE Stereo Receiver or for home theater the NAD T 747 A/V Surround Sound Receiver and get a separate dvd player. My problem with the combos is that there is more chance for failure, but that's just me.
Two cd players went dead and my local dealer stopped carrying them for that reason.
Baba-Booey to you all!
Not Always Defective
Some QC problems at various times
YMMV
